Q+A Hi my name is Jaime but you can call me Doom or Hitler Youth or Orlando Boom Boom My band is called BangGang and we make mix cds and other stuff I live in Surry Hills and it's cool because I live near the junkie drop in centre, which is way more entertaining than anything on TV When I was in school I really wanted to to fingerbang as many girls as possible My favourite record ever is Korn - Korn The first show we ever played was drunk and terrible but the most recent one wasa slight improvement I would like my music to make people dance You wouldn't know it to look at me but I am absolutely crazy about cured meats. It's the best because it's a lil bit wrong but oh so salty and right One day I would really like t ohave a Friday night in. The most amazing place I've ever been/seen is Sapa - Vietnam Its nuts because you can go for epic bamboo forest mountain walks and buy opinum off ten year old tribe girls. I'll tell you a story about a funny thing that happened to my band...we convinced the world we were a band and not just a bunch of idiots playing other people's music... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Try as they might to hide from the limelight and stay away from strobes, The Bang Gang boys have again been drawn into the sleazy butthole of electric body music, sticky sweat discotheques and neverending nights out once more. Theyve delved into the dark side of the human psyche and hit the lowest of lows but have been saved by this beacon of sensory ecstasy LIGHT SOUND DANCE. A 2 disc mix compilation of the patented Bang Gang Deejays club cream and disco dynamite, its the kind of thing that upon listening is likely to make you spontaneously wanna stick your dick in the mashed potato and party like Nick Nolte
Since its establishment in 2003, The Bang Gang has established itself as Australias unrivalled premier night of twisted musical eclecticism, everything and the kitchen sink party vibes and the best Djs this side of Boy George. Jaime Doom, Gus Da Hoodrat, Dangerous Dan, DJ Damage and Ajax, along with maitre d Nolan Nolan redefined what it was to push the boat out in Australia, and have quickly become famous for their parties, Djing and mix sets all over the world. Now theyve done what physicists have been trying to do since the 60s and crystallised the past, the present and the future of partying into 2 discs, all with the inimitable Bang Gang smudge. Somebody give them a nobel prize.
In their downtime theyve been far from inactive sofa slobs, with Monsier Damage turning out a couple of 12s on Headmans Relish label as one half of Riot In Belgium, while Dangerous Dan became Dangerous Dad and gave birth to the infamous Around The World Again 12 with Nicky Van She. Ajax has toured the world, Gus Da Hoodrat has toured new dimensions, rewriting the rulebook on wastedness and remixing everyone from Peter Allen to Prince with the Bag Raiders, and all the while Doom kept the good ship steering in the forward direction, juggling the role of mail boy at Bang Gang 12s with his job as a supreme court judge. Nolan Nolan on the other hand has continued his quest to corrupt the seemingly uncorruptable, all the while growing his collection of James Dean collectibles and teenage boys pubic hair.
Now the Bang Gang parties are back and jumping off around the country at the turn of each season the bar is about to be raised, and Light Sound Dance is the fairest representation of what it feels like to fill your ears with colour, swallow sound and be a slave to the rhythm of a loose funky party dragon.
Its coming soon, its coming fast. get ready.
