The Big Apple's best banshee rockers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs have recorded their own take of fellow skinny-legged NYC legends The Ramones' "Sheena Is A Punk Rocker", a teenage rebellion ripper that will feel just as goddamn awesome blasting from your speakers as the original did back in 1977. The track was recorded for War Child's fifth album, Heroes, from which all the proceeds go to protecting and aiding chidren affected by war. Find out more at warchild.org.uk.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs, fronted by the queen banshee herself, Karen O are almost done and dusted with their new album. Although the details are scarce, what we do know is the follow up to last years Is Is EP won't reach our ears until next year sometime and it's going to be an absolute ripper of a record, that sounds very much like the YYYs but nothing like what we've heard before. Ladyhawke Tops NME Cool List

Ladyhawke has had her debut in NME's annual cool list, coming in at number six. We've always known Pip is cooler than the other side of the pillow and NME have just confirmed it, saying:

Live she's so shy she can barely look at the audience, yet Pip Brown's limitations as a performer are an intrinsic part of her appeal, creating an enthralling disjunction between the euphoria of the music and the punishing self-doubt of its creator.
