Circa 1979: Signal To Noise Podmag - Issue 2 - M Squared
Modular presents the Podmag, a new online experience combining words, visuals and audio with the first of the series being dedicated to Circa 1979: Signal to Noise.
We are extremely proud to have collaborated with the likes of Severed Heads, John Cale, The Reels and Stephen Mallinder (Cabaret Voltaire) who have all curated issues for us, showcasing their favourite tracks and videos. The second issue has been put together by Mitch Jones and Michael Tee, founders of cult Australian post-punk label M Squared. Michael Tee will be a panelist during the free Signal to Noise sessions on Saturday 16th January at The Seymour Centre.

Not Quite Letters to Santa
Portland, Oregon's own nine-year-old Becket Fryback was recently subjected to a life-changing experience, thanks to his father taking him along to a Wolfmother show on their recent US tour. Master Fryback was so affected by power of rock that he put it all in a letter to Andrew Stockdale.

Download: The Tough Alliance - "A New Chance" (The Juan MacLean Remix)
The Tough Alliance's A New Chance may be over two years old, but that hasn't stopped DFA electronic maestro, the Juan MacLean, from giving the record's title track a crisp, new reworking taken form the Prison Break remix EP. You can give the track a stream or take something away from the experience by downloading it for yourself.

#33: Old Gold - A Night Out With Cut Copy (2006)
Way back in 2006 Cut Copy pulled together a mix for Triple 5 Soul featuring the year's big dance floor tracks/bangers sprinkled with Cut Copy's electro-pop sensibilities turning out a mix for all seasons, for the people, not necessarily by the people. Think "The World is Running Down" by The Police being run down by Tiga's "You Gonna Want Me" melted effortlessly into Digitalism's "Zdarlight" and you've only really hit the tip. There's so much more, and not being one to spoil the surprises, as is with these things your ears will be the best judge.

Download: Van She - "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" (Holy Ghost! Remix)
Not too long ago we prescribed you with Van She's cover of the Blue Oyster Cult classic, "(Don't Fear) The Reaper". But if that fever still persists then we highly recommend that it's about time for your second dosage, in the form of a Holy Ghost! remix of the very same track. As if the original wasn't enough, Holy Ghost! do what they do best and take team Van She's effort and make it their own.
Rumour of the day/week/month: James Murphy wouldn't let Holy Ghost! within an inch of the precious DFA cowbell, so he took a 'personal day and trekked to their studio in Paris to play it himself.
