We are extremely proud to have collaborated with the likes of Severed Heads, John Cale, The Reels and Stephen Mallinder (Cabaret Voltaire) who have all curated issues for us, showcasing their favourite tracks and videos. This 4th issue has been put together by the legendary John Cale of The Velvet Underground, who takes us through a diverse choice of tracks and videos. To make the most of the Circa 1979 experience, you can purchase a package ticket which includes entry to John Cale's Keynote Address and Opening Night Party on January 15th at the Seymour Centre and John Cale in concert at the Enmore Theatre on January 16th.

The week of Circa 1979: Signal to Noise has arrived and rumours have already started to fly. Despite all publicity being good publicity one rumour we would like to nip in the bud was that the John Cale Keynote and Opening Party at the Seymour Centre this Friday is sold out. Rest assured a second round of tickets have been released but they are selling fast so if you'd like to catch the great man in action, and be the first to see the Signal to Noise exhibition, get your tickets from the Seymour Centre, $35/ $30 conc.

Also don't forget John Cale and his band are performing at the Enmore Theatre on Saturday January 16. Visit Ticketek for tickets.

Jonathan Boulet Announces Australian Headline Tour


Sydney smart aleck Jonathan Boulet will kick off his virgin headline tour of Australia in February 2010 in support of his wondrously vivid self-titled debut record. The pied piper of bedroom pop will lead his band of the merriest men around the country for 14 of the best, kicking off at the Northcote Social Club in Melbourne on February 12 and snaking his way around the country before triumphantly crossing the finish line at Fans in Brisbane on March 13.

The Reels incited a revolution from the background. Their electronic pioneering and Oz Rock reactionism was actualised as a subtle surge of musical creativity. They produced music for music's sake, deeply beautiful and melodic with small hints of experimentation. It was, however, their accessibility and understated insurgence that allowed them to shift the focus of Australian music from the stadium to the synthesiser.
