One Night Stand is a self-indulgent exercise, by little miss Tess and Ariel, that began with the noble aim of throwing the spotlight on Perth, and the fabulous  nobodies that inhabit the city. The idea is that anything can become   something as long as you document it. So they went about taking photo’s, getting interviews, digging up drawings, writing notes and forcing scribbles from as many people as they could and hand crafting it into a treasure that was driven by our underlying narcissistic desire to see ourselves in press.

By publishing the pictures of the people they saw, every person contained within each black and white page became a local celebrity. They’ve gone to house parties, after parties, shop launches and music events.

Each issue and each night starts at a different time, at one venue or another, and usually ends much later, at an entirely new one. What one night stand does is bear witness to all the happenings on that one specific night; every kiss, crush, dance, drawing, mad beat, sweet thread and fresh kick out there.

Their lone rule is that every item caught up in each issue must be collected from one specific night. Basically, if they didn’t pick it up and go home with it on the night then it’s not a one night stand.
