#30: Dreamtime - Music For Airports, Planes, Trains and Buses
For the last 3 weeks I've been forced to float around Europe thanks to some immigration issues keeping me from my new home in London. A lot of this time has been spent shuffling between airports, planes, trains, buses, hotels, friends flats and footpaths, in Paris, Rome, Gothenburg and Stockholm.
Created with the dual purpose in mind of calming the nerves in the face of tense customs situations and equally sounding sublime while gazing out the window of a moving vessel, here's a mix of stuff that sounded perfect at various points in time during my exile. More gentle blend than mix so to speak.

#29: Magic Happens - Use Your Illusionist
From a young age Magic learnt the values of drawing a line in the sand without putting all your eggs in one basket. After initially falling in amongst a rag-tag bunch of misfits with nothing to lose and something to prove, a youthful Magic Happens would soon reach a point of inconsolable disillusion and eventually come to formulate his own system of beliefs and ideals, ultimately arriving at the notion of doing what's best for the party.
Listen: The Tough Alliance - "Hung Up On A Dream"
From the misty highlands of Sweden, the bat wielding, lip synching, genre bending whores that are The Tough Alliance smash us with a new joint for our friday freebie. This cover of The Zombies' hit "Hung Up On A Dream" is sweeter than a fistful of fairy floss delivered by a friendly liger.
#28: Canyons
On a lazy Friday afternoon, the newly signed Canyons boys, Ryan and Leo, entered the Modular boardroom to lay down some of their favourite disco jams alongside some "mic breaks", resulting in some fairly hilarious calls. Best listened on a sunny afternoon, shirts-off, with an ice-cold jug of Pimms.
Wolfmother Returns
Frontman Andrew Stockdale has emerged from his self-built home studio and is due to head to LA to record the second Wolfmother album with producer Alan Moulder in April. Wolfmother stepped out earlier in February to play two shows in Brisbane and Sydney to roadtest the new material prior to recording. Billed as White Feather, the shows at the Valley Studios in Andrew's hometown of Brisbane and The Oxford Arts Factory in Sydney sold out within minutes of word leaking online, and Wolfmother ripped through a set of old gold and new magic to those quick enough to be there.
#27: Allez Allez
Thats right, we've another ModCast filtering out onto the internets as we speak, this time by the genial lads at Allez Allez.
Sam Willis and Steve Nolan have been curating an equisite selection of mixes online for the last few years from folks as diverse as Joakim, Four Tet, Animal Collective and Samim to name just a handful, in between their special guest mixes knocking out the occasional master blaster themselves, just as they've done for us.
Video: Yeah Yeah Yeahs "It's Blitz!" Webisode
"Also, take an intimate look into the making of our new record It's Blitz! One man armed with a camera documenting our day to day recording activities, from the mundane to the not so mundane. There's never been a more candid portrait of us "doing our thing" as the following series of teasers, for the visual journey into our sonic crusade, that we call SNAKESWEAT. Up first, tender moments with the inscrutable Nick Zinner". Karen O.
Tameimpala.com Hits The Web
"Hello internet friends / fans / people vaguely interested. We are a psychedelic rock band called Tame Impala. We're really good and awesome and we like to play gigs in paddocks and other large areas of grass in the sun. We like to record music at home. We wrote a bio a while ago but lost it, I'll put it up when I find it."
#26: Lover the Label
A new Modcast has eeked it's way out into the ether, hosted by Sydney-based fashion label Lover®.
Kicking off with the elegaic tones of one John Coltrane and running the gamut from Cypress Hill to Elliot Smith, along the way tackling heavy issues ranging from Barack bonging on, to the big guy in the sky himself.
