#35: Delphic
It's unofficial/official Delphic week leading up the the release of Acolyte, and we've got an extremely banging Modcast for you to aurally celebrate with. Late last year, the lads popped into Mike Joyce's 'Alternative Therapy' radio show and played the following set, confirming that not only is 2010 the year of the tiger, but also Delphic.
But wait, there's more. Acolyte is now streaming in full over on the band's MySpace page and make sure you tune in '2010' with Richard Kingsmil this Sunday night to hear and interview with Delphic and a special album announcement. Did somebody say, "feature album"?
Ladyhawke Artwork Auction for Haiti
Sarah Larnach, whose iconic watercolour artwork adorns Ladyhawke's debut album and its series of singles, is auctioning a piece of original art to raise funds for charity to assist those harmed in the devastating Haiti earthquake.
This is the first time a piece of artwork from her Ladyhawke work has been for sale. Pip Brown and Sarah Larnach will also sign a copy of the single "Paris Is Burning" in addition to a personal letter of thanks to the buyer.
The auction is on now, on eBay.
Listen: Exclusive Delphic Remixes (Riton and Phoenix)
It's all happening right now on the Delphic front, with the release of their debut Acolyte (NME's "first great debut of 2010") right around the corner on January 22, we thought we'd toss a few goodies your way to help tide you over. First up is a pair of killer remixes; Riton getting all up in Delphic's own stomper "Doubt" in addition to team Delphic going all French on Phoenix's "Fences". Have a stream, turn up the speakers and invite the neighbours in.
But that's not all. This week's Modcast instalment will be a all-killer-no-filler mix put together by (you guessed it) Delphic, included with a special announcement.

#34: Circle Pit
Before stepping out to fill the prestigious position of 'support slot' for Yeah Yeah Yeahs on their It's Blitz! Australian tour, Jack Mannix and Angie Bermuda of Sydney band Circle Pit stopped by Modular HQ with a stack of their favourite records, an iPod full of their favourite MP3s and zero sign of pre-show jitters. A case of beer later and some heavy conversation about the duality of Compact Discs, Jack and Angie put on a stellar show and tell us why they adore the juicy tunes they chose.
