#37: Darcel Disappoints
Darcel doesn't disappoint - well at least in the Modcast stakes. The internet's favourite bespectacled vector cyclops has turned in a smashing (though somewhat one-eyed) selection of tracks that regardless of whether you have 20/20 vision or not, you will thoroughly enjoy. No disappointments here.

Watch and Listen to John Cale's Keynote Online
On February 15 underground rock royalty and founding member of the Velvet Underground, John Cale, cut the red ribbon for Modular and Sydney Festival's Circa 1979: Signal to Noise with a Keynote speech at the Seymour Centre. Hipsters rubbed shoulders with electronic pioneers in a packed out York Theatre as Cale showed off a few snaps and described working with the likes of Lou Reed, Patti Smith, Happy Mondays, The Stooges and LCD Soundsystem before capping things off with a mind blowing rendition of "Heart Break Hotel."
If you missed the speech or want to listen/watch it again, ABC's Big Ideas are streaming it online.

2009 Triple J Hottest 100 Round Up
Well done team Modular, who represented a tidy 5% slice in this year's Triple J Hottest 100 pie chart, which was unveiled yesterday. Yeah Yeah Yeahs' peaked as the highest Mod act (with 2 songs no less), while Australia's own Wolfmother, Tame Impala and Bag Raiders bigged up the local side of things. Thank you all for taking the time to vote, and a big congratulations to the acts!

#36: Kim Pt. I - Prog-Cast
It's a well known fact that the best things in life come in two parts. Take this week's Modcast for example, put together by the one and only Kim Moyes (aka KIM/Kim from the Presets) who has provided us with a whopping two week's work of musical ear candy. This first installment, the ambient 'Prog cast' is an ode to synthesisers, prog and all things chill. Stay tuned in coming weeks for the 'Clubby' mix.
