Jonathan Boulet Tour Diary Part 3

You asked for it, and now you've got it - the third and final leg of Jonathan Boulet & Co.'s voyage across the country as told by the man himself:

We're now into the last week of the tour.

On the road, 9 hours to Melbourne via Wangaratta for a quick stroll down memory lane. We basically just drove straight down the main street as I shot off as many anecdotes as possible.

We had a week to kill so we checked out the markets. Ravi got some sunglasses. We saw a heap of chickens, dolls, knives, toys, and corn on the cob.

This was the first time most of us have been to Melbourne. So we did the tourist thing and checked out all the museums and attractions. The place is a gold mine. Alley after alley of cafes, art galleries, independent restaurants, instant Chinese take away (seriously, I hadn't finished saying the order and it was on the table). Can't wait to get back there.

Of course we had to check out the graffiti laneways. They were pretty intense. But the thing I couldn't believe was how much graffiti and street art there is all over the city. I mean there was no wall untouched. And it wasn't just stupid annoying tags; they were pretty awesome pieces, and usually quite large.

We spent the day, undisturbed at Fitzroy bowl. Very nice bowl, lots of fun. The tree overshadowing the bowl had upwards of 15 pairs of shoes in it.

Oh yeah, the shows...

The Ballarat show was in this sweet little room. It was weird because when we arrived in Ballarat everyone was at home, so it was like a ghost town. Then as it grew darker the people would start appearing.

The Geelong show was amazing. The place had been completely renovated only a month before, so the stage was covered in brand new lights, lasers, smoke machines, and digital everythings. It was like we had travelled 3 years into the future. The band room was this VIP room at the top of the building straight out of a gangsta rap video.

Corner hotel was also awesome, big crowd, good vibes.

I snapped a shot of them when they weren't looking.

So that's it, time to go home.
Can't wait to write some new music.

Bye
