Watch: Roland Tings - Tomita's Basement

Graphic design studio Tin & Ed have created a visualisation of the elastic Roland Tings single Tomita's Basement. Inspired by Michael Talbot's text The Holographic Universe, the untraditional music video is a highly graphic and somewhat abstract exploration of analog motion set in a digital universe. Using live video capture, the design duo simulated the jittery motion of sub atomic particles, the smooth rotation of stars and planets and the energetic unpredictability of human movement.

Talbot observes, "we are really "receivers" floating through a kaleidoscopic sea of frequency, and what we extract from this sea and transmogrify into physical reality is but one channel from many extracted out of the super hologram".

Very thought provoking. The Tomita's Basement/Cagean Sea EP is now available on vinyl and digital through Club Mod.
