Tao Lin (b. 1983) is the Brooklyn based poet/author responsible for last year's cult hit novella, Shoplifting From American Apparel. His anticipated second novel, Richard Yates, is due to be released by Melville House in September.

Tao: This mixtape contains songs I've consistently listened to the past 1-7 years. I have ordered the songs in a manner that seems satisfying to me. The tone of this mixtape could be described as "calmly, idly, nostalgically, at-times 'energetically' emotional." I have excluded songs that would, to a certain degree, disturb that tone. One could elaborate on the tone by describing it as "low-level, peaceful, considered 'depression'/'inactivity' experienced mostly with acceptance and sometimes with gratitude."
