Recommends: Asger Carlsen

Challenging the typical press shot requirements of visible faces, Cut Copy enlisted Asger Carlsen to photograph and edit a series of super freaky portraits that distort the band beyond recognition.

Carlsen's imitable style of absurd figure manipulations, which evolved from working in crime photography and shooting magazine ads, binds and perverts images of bodies and limbs as 2D sculpture. In the Vice documentary below, the Danish-born New York-based artist explains, "I wouldn't except the photograph just to be a photograph. I want it to be something escape its origin."
