Recommends: Clemens Habicht

The key to a unique idea often comes from approaching the same thing from a different perspective. Director, illustrator, designer and master of the wide angle, Clemens Habicht, made a name for himself bottling and selling this approach. Behind what's often a simple performance video Clemens lends his alternate finger print, which has led him to direct videos for the likes of Tame Impala and Friendly Fires.

As blog fiends always looking for new sources of inspiration we asked Clemens to shoot through a few web landings that give him his ideas.

Any time I need to learn how to do anything - from panel beating, to rendering a wall, to making cake, I consult youtube and the good folks out there who know and take the time to make well thought out instructional videos with clear narration. Witness Bruce and his channel.

About the closest I've come to understand the allure of fashion, makes me want to have stuff, and, no words.

Most tastefully curated blog, I try not too visit too often cos the sheer quantity of good stuff is overwhelming.

An inspiration and a modest friend, these animated videos and perfect drawings make my face burn when I think of cutting corners.

Designer turned artist. The best bit is his rejected Olympic logo.

Already celebrated but still the idea is king, look at some of the rejected treatments to know why music videos could be better and think about the fact that these unrealised ideas are made public, looking at awarded treatments you can see behind the curtain and the scale of conception versus execution, thats a rarely honest thing.

Also lots of internet gemdom here.
