Recommends: Horse Meat Disco Beach Party

DJ veterans Horse Meat Disco have held down arguably the world's most important disco club night at The Eagle for nearly 10 years. They'll be bringing those same guaranteed good-times with them to Croatia as part of the FOR 2013 family. Read on for a cheeky playlist from the lads, showing off their much lauded disco chops.

Two of the boys will be bringing the fun on Saturday night alongside 2manydjs, James Murphy & Bag Raiders. Tickets on sale now here. EX-YU & HR passport holders are eligible for a discount ticket rate, details here.

The female trio Labelle comprised of Patti Labell, Nona Hendryx & Sarah Dash are on of my obsessions. They had the voices, the tunes and the amazing outfits as this video will testify. They were way ahead of their time combining soul, disco and rock and have influenced many musicians. There's a lot more to their back catalogue than Lady Marmalade their massive hit from 1974.

In July 1983 Diana Ross, who was then as big as say Beyonce is now, performed a free concert in New York's Central Park to an audience of half a million. Unfortunately there was an enormous thunder storm during the show and in spite of trying to carry on singing and dancing through the rain Diana had to eventually cancel the show due to safety issues. The following day Diana returned to the stage and gave the concert again to her adoring fans and this time the sun came out.

This clip of the Ritchie Family performing Give Me A Break comes from the Village People movie Can't Stop The Music and it epitomises the dynamism, excitement and glamour of disco music in the 1970's

This fabulous clip of Tina Turner and Cher singing Shirley & Co's Shame Shame Shame is pure dynamite. Who knew Cher was such a funky sister. And of course Tina turns it out!! Plus we love Cher's Cleopatra-style wig.

Before Michael Jackson did his famous moonwalk at the Motown 25 concert in 1983, Jeffrey Daniel from Shalamar had actually executed the move on the BBC's flagship music show Top of The Pops in 1982. It was the first time we'd seen body popping and locking and I remember watching in awe as a 13 year old and the next day at school everyone was trying to bust out Jeffrey Daniel's moves.

How gorgeous does Chaka Khan look in this clip? One of our favourite Rufus & Chaka songs ever and this performance is second to none.

This clip often gets removed from youtube for some reason which is really annoying as it's my favourite youtube clip ever. A 16 year old Stephanie Mills sings Home from the musical The Wiz which she was starring in on Broadway and she absolutely turns it out! Check out Liza Minelli, Sammy Davis Junior and, I think, Rita Moreno, rushing the stage after Stephanie's performance to congratulate her. Amazing!
