Recommends: Richard Hamilton @ Tate Modern

British pop art pillar Richard Hamilton made it one of his guiding principles to never sit still, a restless proponent of pop art whose oeuvre moved across painting, sculpture, collage, installation, design and photography, a selection of which is now on display in an extensive retrospective at the Tate Modern in London.

Whether it was recreations of a photograph of Mick Jagger, the work of Marcel Duchamp, the Guggenheim Museum, or his own paintings, the exhibition displays Hamilton as a deeply critical thinker with a fascinatingly transparent process, and one adept at translating his critiques into colourful, dazzling works of pop art.

Open until May 26.
