Hot on the heels of their Ill-Studio exposé, 12Mail gallery in Paris offers 'Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow, Forever' by London polymath Trevor Jackson. The former label head, DJ, producer, graphic designer and artist presents an abstract celebration of the vinyl record in the form of large scale reproductions of microscopic details of those holy grooves, which is showing now until May 16. Represented in completely unrecognisable but beautifully impressionist, monochromatic form are seminal records by The Beach Boys, Fingers Inc., Public Enemy and Jean Michael Jarre, amongst others.
To accompany the exhibition Jackson composed two tracks using samples of the records featured within that deftly compliments the dusty ambience of the work. A limited number of 12"s were produced and are out there now for those who are quick. Stay tuned for our own special projects with Trevor to emerge soon!
