A Little Night Music, or Eine Kleine Nacht Musik, is the exceptionally wonderous, cosmically exquisite new project for Henry Smithson, also known as Riton. Eine Kleine Nacht Musik is a blissful trip down the autobahn circa 1974, a genius meeting of motorik rhythm and shimmering atmospherics, of churning basslines and tripped out sitar, relentless drums and drifting synths. Recorded in London at Smithson’s home in Camden and in a studio in West London, Eine Kleine Nacht Musik features a range of guest musicians contributing all manner of guitars, sitars, strings, glockenspiels and xylophones, at the centre of which you can picture Smithson at an enormous bank of analog synthesisers, conducting his micro-orchestra of space-bound explorers.
