MSTRKRFT - The Looks
July 18, 2006
From the remixers of Annie, The Kills, Bloc Party and Wolfmother's Woman comes the debut LP for the Canadian electronica duo. MSTRKRFT is one part Jesse Keller (formerly of the noise-rock duo Death From Above 1979) and his studio partner Al-P, a contemplative smoker who produced DFA 1979's libidinous album. MSTRKRFT prove that their skills are more than just in the studio packaging together the live elements into their debut. The Looks strips back all of rocks bloated nostalgia and delivers a powerful, direct and unabashed dance album. MSTRKRFT are a package of punk, house, hip-hop, grime and all kinds of electronic experimentation.
